University of British Columbia’s Department of Building Operations Moves to PeopleSoft

The University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Department of Building Operations has decided to move from their current FME System to the University’s PeopleSoft Enterprise System for work order management. FME is a ten year old system and support for the system has come to an end. By moving to PeopleSoft, the Department of Building Operations will implement the Inventory, Purchasing, eProcurement, Asset Management and Maintenance Management modules. These modules will integrate into the existing modules already implemented at UBC, Accounts Payable, Project Costing and General Ledger.

The project will start January 2012 and will be project managed in-house by the Department of Building Operations. The Functional and Technical oversight has been sourced to Creative Netcom who will oversee UBC’s IT resources on the project and work with the Department of Building Operations to review existing Business Processes and configure the modules in PeopleSoft.
