University of British Columbia EWS AR/BI Project

The University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Dept. of Energy and Water Services (EWS) and Dept. of Building Operations (BOps) have decided to implement the Billing (BI) and Receivables (AR) modules in PeopleSoft. The departments current Utilities Management System (UMS) will be interfaced to the BI module. This will allow them to use PeopleSoft’s invoicing. Accounting entries will be directly journal generated to GL. It will also allow them to conduct accounts receivable and customer aging in the AR module. As part of a second phase of the project, customers will be able to pay their invoices through online banking. Payments received from HSBC will be integrated to the AR module. Consulting oversight has been sourced to CN who will provide UBC with configuration and functional expertise. The functional lead will be Ron Hing who will work with EWS senior management and business teams and the PeopleSoft Team for data conversion, enhancements and system administration.
